Bwindi Community Hospital welcomes the opportunity for volunteers to come and share their skills with our staff and for medical and nursing students to learn. We are dedicated to sustainability and to recruiting and retaining the highest quality health workers in Uganda, and for this reason we fill as many of these positions as possible with Ugandans.
Our current placements for overseas medical/nursing/midwifery/laboratory workers and students are full. Please check the website during the spring of 2012 for future updates on this situation.

Bwindi Community Hospital greatly benefits from volunteers who visit regularly and help in various ways. The month of December saw the arrival of two dentists, Ashley and Moira from the United Kingdom, who selflessly gave their time, energy, and talent to enrich BCH’s health care program.
This is the fourth year that Ashley and Moira have visited the hospital. They stayed for nine days on this trip, and during that time over 117 patients had their teeth fixed. Hosting Ashley and Moira has been an enriching experience, as it has brought more insights to the staff’s knowledge and practice. These generous volunteers also sponsor a BCH staff member, Elly Byaruhanga, who is enrolled at Mulago paramedical school. Elly is studying to be a dentist and is greatly inspired by Ashley and Moira.
BCH is very grateful for all the support their volunteers provide and are always open to welcoming more volunteers who are interested in serving at the hospital.
If you are interested in volunteering because you have a non-medical skill, particularly in public relations and fundraising, please email your inquiry to bchcvolunteering@gmail.com.
