Improve Healthcare in Bwindi by providing a local nurse with a scholarship for a Masters degree of nursing

Over the past seven years, 25 staff members have benefited from our training scholarships and have returned to provide outstanding health services to the Bwindi community. The staff scholarship program is an important part of securing the future of BCH. 100% of the money goes to school tuition, accommodation, food and books for the period of study.
Recently we identified two nurses who are both dedicated staff and served BCH selflessly: Elizabeth Nabadda and Jane Ayango. We hope to send these nurses to pursue Masters Degrees and enhance their service at BCH.

Elizabeth heads the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program. She is pursuing a Masters degree in Public Health-Save The Mothers at Uganda Christian University. The Hospital is struggling to assist her in all ways possible in achieving this dream, but we hope she can get more support in realizing her goal.  We strongly believe that having a Masters-level nurse in this position will equip Elizabeth with the knowledge and skill to teach the student nurses at our upcoming Nursing School, thus improving the reproductive health of the Bwindi community. Attaining a Masters degree in Public Health – Save The Mothers for Elizabeth would cost US$ 9,000.

Jane has headed Nursing at BCH. She was honored with a partial scholarship to the University of Edinburgh for a Masters in Nursing. However; this does not cover the tutorship course and living costs while attending university in Scotland. BCH needs Jane to obtain this Masters degree so she can head our upcoming Nursing School. Ensuring that our talented head nurse can complete a Masters degree in nursing, would cost US$8200

As a community based hospital, BCH needs Elizabeth and Jane to upgrade their education in order to offer the best medical services to the Bwindi community.  We shall be very grateful for any amount of donation you can spare to help these two talented nurses pursue Masters Degrees and improve healthcare in Bwindi.

If you are able to support the Hospital by contributing towards the education of Elizabeth and Jane, please let us know. Your financial support will go a long way to ensuring quality healthcare in Bwindi.
